This is the story of Chad Berger and Bryan Much on their 2005 ride of the Michigan Cycle Concervation Clubs 1200 mile Upper Penninsula Dual Sport Safari.
A little idea of how steep the dunes are. Alot of people go down the dunes and aren't able to get back up!
I think Bryan is gonna take a leap down the chute. In the old logging days they used to send huge logs down this chute to boats that were waiting for them.
Back on the trail ,we gassed up near the mouth of the Little Two hearted river and had to either take a shortcut on the ORV trail or backtrack a ways to the gravel forest roads.
In this 3 mile section of ORV trail I dumped my bike 2 or 3 times. The sand was super deep and I had major issues
taking inventory after the first dump. Everything works, so lets go!
Just barely avoided a dump here. I was expelling a series of expletaives that would have made anyone proud.
Situations like this are frustrating. You feel like your doing everything right, but nothing is working!
Bryan hauling butt down the gravel roads.
The Crisp point lighthouse.
another view of the lighhouse. This was a very scenic area that would be a nice place to camp if you got there at the right time. Pretty remote.
Back on the trail heading to Paradise. This was a nice area for riding and we got off the trail at least once but quickly realized our mistakes and got on the right trails.
